Huntersville is located about 14 miles north of uptown Charlotte. It is a large suburban town that is part of Mecklenburg County and its home to roughly 60,000 residents. It is close to Lake Norman, which is known recreationally as a lake community. These lake areas attract thrill seekers such as boaters as well as water-skiers.
There are also several golf courses, private, semi-private and public.
Huntersville is also home to the very popular annual Carolina Renaissance Festival that operates in the months of October and November. It has express bus transportation and interstates with HOV that provides access to the downtown business areas of Charlotte.
